The convoy's planned route would take advantage of the capabilities of the GEV vehicles, and would travel along the river. The direction of travel was from the bottom of the picture to the top. The ambushers had deployed their five squads using "hidden" markers, and were given three dummy markers and three directional mine markers. The convoy was required to bring their vehicles onto the board one at a time starting on the river.
